Until they get punched in the face - Mike Tyson
My point being ... planning can not be a scheduled event. Things change, life happens and sometimes plans change. As I am getting a little more involved in my planning I am realizing that my week starts out nice a polished and ends up with scribbles, scratches, and Bruises (it happens sometimes) this can be very discouraging to some people.... I mean you planned, why did the day go astray?!
So to keep the faith in planning (and realize that it may not actually go as planned) you have to keep consistent in your planning method.
Remember to take time in your morning to go over your schedule to add and subtract from what you originally added to that day.
I like to keep a 'long term' schedule in my planner on the full month over view. This means I am always adding to future months. Believe me they fill up fast!
Consistancy= continuity
As I get along in my planning life I know my methods will change and knowing in advance that I will change everything makes continuing to plan so much easier.
I can't wait to see how my planner has changed next year as I grow and learn personally and professionally.
This is the fifth blog in the Soar Into Summer Blog series. Check out these blogs for more info on continuous planning.
