I would like to take this opportunity to introduce you all to the newest addition to the Disick/Torrisi family. She is not NEW but she is new to us and we are so excited to call her ours. Everyone this is Dream On ..... Dream On, this is, well.... everyone!!
For now that is what we will call her, since we can't agree on a new name.
We spent all of last week bringing her up the Hudson River from Long Island. If we had a Captains log it may have read something like this:
End of Day 1: This was the perfect day to get a boat! The weather is just right, the tides are complimenting, and the crew is nothing short of perfect. We left from Babylon and came into Jersey City, Liberty Landing Marina under the lights of New York City and the gaze of Lady Liberty. I would have liked a little more sunshine to help with the end of the trip today but there is no complaining about our view. It will be an early night as we have a long day of travel tomorrow to get back to Coeymans by night fall.

Start of Day 2: Just about to depart for the ride up the Hudson River. Getting fuel and making sure the crew is prepared for the long day ahead.
Delayed Start of Day 2: Made it to the fuel dock (1000 feet from our dock space) fueled up and now the Port (left) engine won't start. It was just working so Im sure this will be an easy fix.
11AM Day 2: It doesn't seem like we will be making the entire trip home today due to the port engine not working. I have the crew working hard on finding dock space and fuel for us up the river so once night falls we are safe for the night and can continue on the tomorrow AM. One day lost does not seem too bad.
1PM Day 2: Still at Liberty Landing Marina with an anxious crew. Coast Guard boat has stopped at the fuel dock next to us and the Captain has allowed her engineer to help us out with our problem.... Since we still have no idea what that problem is any and all help is welcomed.
3PM Day 2: Grrrrrrrrrrrr ..... We need a new starter. It is on its way to us. Looks like tomorrow morning will be a wonderful day to start our voyage up the Hudson.
End of Day 2: Our starter has been replaced and still our boat will not start.... Time for Whiskey! The crew has elected to stay aboard until our problem is solved. We will hopefully be out of this Marina before the sun hits high noon tomorrow.
10AM Day 3: Spent the entirety of the morning in the engine room and all we have found is that there is water being sucked into our engine via the exhaust. More f$&@ing problem solving to be done.

12PM Day 3: we have taken spark plugs out numerous times and with each attempt to start the boat brings more water into the engine. WTF?!?!?!? The crew has started to look for alternative ways home. I wonder if the boat would make it North on the train tracks?!
1230 Day 3: The Marina mechanic is coming by in an hour. The crew is having lunch off the boat to give me some time to decompress..... I don't think I need it .... Do I seem stressed?!
2PM Day 3: All but one crew member has left. The mechanic has come aboard and told me that the f@&$ing starter is the wrong one!! ANOTHER starter was ordered and we will be headed North by tomorrow PM. Where is that Whiskey?!
5PM Day 3: Dinner off the boat with my favorite crew member!
Start of Day 4: Only an hour until the new starter gets here.
9:30AM Day 4: Part has not arrived but should be here soon.
10:30AM Day 4: Part will be here in a half hour
12PM Day 4: My favorite crew member got us pizza for lunch so when the starter gets here we don't have to waste time eating.
1PM Day 4: Days of Our Lives has just come on the TV so now there is nothing on the TV and the damn part is still not here!!
2PM Day 4: Starter is finally here. Now the install.
4PM Day 4: The boat has started. That's right it started..... It better start for the rest of its life!!
6PM Day 4: Dinner out again.... There better be beer!!
Start of Day 5: The boat starts and we are off.... No stops at that f$&@ing fuel dock.
End of Day 5: Made it home safe. 2 fuel stops along the way and came into Coeymans 3 days late and 3 crew members short!

During our week at Liberty Landing Marina we saw numerous boats come and go, including Coast guard boats, US Army Corps of Engineers, Fire Boats, the Po-po, Sail boats, Whalers, Fishing boats, and so many water taxis.
There were so many friendly people and we even got a recommendation for dinner the last night while taking a shower one morning.
Even though it was unexpected it was great to spend 5 days on our new boat and I can not wait to get her back in the water come Spring time. Our adventures have just started and I could not ask for a better Captain to share those adventures.
Fair Winds!
