So I am 4 days out from my marathon. I am just starting to get back on a schedule and the chafing is in the process of healing. During those 26.2 miles I had a lot of time to think and ponder. So I thought I would share some of my thoughts along the way..... Enjoy
Pre-race: Wish I didnt have to wait in a security line with 29,999 other people ... Im going to be late!
Mile 1: Well no turning back now
Mile 2: What did I do, what did I do, what did I do?!?!
Mile 3: I thought I was told this was a flat course
Mile 4: Did that guy just say he was 82 and still running marathons?!?!
Mile 5: Well Hello Marine!
Mile 6: WATER
Mile 7: I really hate the rain
Mile 8: Running spectators are awesome! (My favorite sign 'Keep Calm and Dont poop your pants')
Mile 9: Is that person giving out Vaseline?
Mile 10: I could run all day if these fun signs were all over!
Mile 11: Hey look the Washington Monument!
Mile 12: Im crying ... why am I crying
Mile 13: Where is that guy with the Vaseline?
Mile 14: I smell popcorn
Mile 15: Did I just take my shirt off in front of the Smithsonian?
Mile 17: How am I not at mile 19?!
Mile 18-20: I better make it to the bridge, yikes!
Mile 21: Im STARVING!!
Mile 22: I want pizza, french fries, a cupcake
Mile 23: Wait are those donuts?
Mile 24: Are those men in Speedos? YUP!! Thank you for the motivation!
Mile 25: I totally have this!
Mile 26: Is there seriously a hill right there?
Mile 26.2: Am I still alive or am I dreaming?
Post-race: Well Hello Marine! Oh that medal is HEAVY!!

The Post run high is still happening and I dont care if I sound braggy but Im telling everyone I can that I ran a marathon. Mainly bc I do NOT plan on running another one!
Thank you for all of the motivation and positive thoughts during training, the day before the run, during the run, and since I have finished. If i didnt have the greatest friends and family around, Im not sure I could have gotten to the last Marine with the pretty gold medal!
Fair Winds!
